CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT
YOUR TIME IS UP!!!!
Prov is stepping down as Manager his last game will be on Sunday 7th March (see Provs comments below) so as usual we will use this as an excuse for a P**S up!!!
What we are doing is going 10-pin bowling after the game on the 7th (Teesside Park @ 2:30pm) then back to Sedgefield to get Prov JD’d to the max.
We plan to have two games (Prov is trying to get a discount through his many contacts) so for now if you are attending can you give me £5.00 asap so that I can book the lanes.
I’m not there this Sunday morning but Nicky will collect this money and pass it on to me (I have not asked Nicky but he knows now!!!)
If you have kids and want to bring them along to the bowling then that is fine I sure I can get one of my many siblings to come along.
So after some discussions the new manager will be Marc Dickerson (aka Pulla) who will start from Sunday 14th March (weather permitting) Mally will remain as his no:2 until the end of the season with Spanna helping when needed.
Next season Spanna and Shep (big not small) plus hopefully others will then add to the management setup.
Mal’s situation is that next season he is playing over’s 40 (that’s age not inches) but is still signing for Netpark and remaining as a committee member, he will play for us when he can as he cannot commit to playing full time with him now playing on a Saturday and having child no:2 on way.
Obviously people situations may change but this is the Clubs current plans.
Whilst I’m on the subject of next season if you could all get back to me if you are continuing or not then that will give us an idea of the amount and type of players that we need to look at getting involved during the summer months (I already know about Mal and Joe)
======================================================
Hold back the tears, here is Prov’s parting message!!!
As most of you are aware it was my intention to "retire" at the end of the season. However I have been presented with an opportunity to study for an MBA, which my employers are going to fund (and it's not cheap). Having considered all of the options I feel that I would not be able to commit to both the MBA and football for the remainder of the season. With this in mind I have decided to step down early, with my last game being the 7th March.
We have come a long way as a club, on and off the field, in the last 3 years and I'm sure we will continue to build on the success we have had to date. Whilst after several JD and cokes I may claim that my being manager is the driving force behind this the reality is that all I do is pick the team. The success that we have had, and will continue to have, is down to the collective efforts of everyone, and the will to try and run the club for the good of everyone concerned.
I'm not sure I'll miss the commute every week from Nottingham, but I will miss everything else related to the club.
Now go and get to a cup final and secure promotion.
I’d just like to add to Craig’s comments and thank him for everything that he has done for our Club not only as a Manager but as a player during our darker days.
His involvement with the Club on and off the pitch, are greatly appreciated by all and we wish him well with his MBA.
I’m sure he’ll come back whenever he can and I know we will have another trip or two down to Nottingham in the future.
Thanks, David.
