10 OF THE BEST AS NETPARK RETURN TO BUSINESS!!
Sedgefield NETPark F.C 10 – 1 Framwellgate Salutation F.C
After a couple of months no action the lads and management were delighted to see that the pitch looked in pretty good shape and was going to go ahead after so many postponements. A cool, crisp morning saw NETPark face Framwellgate Moor Salutation in the Presidents Cup and what looked like a good day for football. A few absentees in Mally, Barber, Peaty, Gregs, Rob, Linesy, Taily meant that we had a small but strong squad available to pick from. Peter Matches made his first start and Shep came back in to play centre half. Nick Walker made his return from injury to start on the right in the absence of Mally. Right from the off NETPark played some good football and looked to take an early hold over proceedings. A few half chances and plenty of possession saw the lads settle back into their stride nicely. The first goal came as Nick Walker picked up the ball and played in Turland who beat the keeper and slotted for 1-0. We never looked back with a flurry of possession and chances Nick Walker grabbed the second as a ball from the left came in Walker met it on the volley with his left foot and found the corner of the net from 12 yards. The third saw Walker played in down the right and as he closed in on goal squared the ball across to Broomy to slot away for 3-0. Framwellgate pulled on back from a crossed free kick that looped over Darren Bill into the net. The fourth was a wonderfully worked goal which saw 5 or 6 players involved resulting in a delightful finish from Broomy again as he met a wonderfully timed ball across the box. Half time 4-1.
It now starting to get hazy as we dominated proceedings further and I cant remember how all the goals came about Turland notched the fifth shortly after the break. The goalkeeper will want forget the sixth as he rolled it to Broomy and with time to recover he let Broomys shot creep through his legs. Then Kev Broom got in on the act as his curling shot went into the corner, Sedge scored a wonderful lob for 8, Turland got another one in the box and Martin Broom finished of the scoring beating the keeper at his near post for 10. We never really gave Framwellgate a sniff and played some really good stuff at times. A fantastic way to get back to playing football and a pleasing result only disappointment was probably the fact we could of done with the 10 goals in the league but were not complaining.
