A seasringly hot day saw the lads face their first pre season test with a fixture against sedgefield over fortys. We welcomed some new faces to the club, James Taylor returned from a succesful season at St Eds and looked every bit the quality player who left us at the start of last season, Todd Young signed from the Black Lion in a fantastic scoop for club had a superb debut bagging a brace along the way and Paul Tierney signing also from the Black lion adding quality and experience to the back line making an impressive debut comfortable on the ball and at the back. The lads played some excellent stuff and created plenty of chances whilst looking pretty steady at the back all morning. Peter Sedgwick had a fantastic game in the middle of the park until his feet gave way wearing studs on the rock hard ground possibly an error. Bagging two goals including the opener from 25 yards Sedgy is looking in good nick for the start of the season. Stephen Turland looks as if he could be getting right back to his best with a lovely hatrikc inclding a sublime outside of the foot effort from a tight angle. All in all the lads can be pleased with their start to pre season as we finished off the job with a headed goal from Lee Peat and and one from Nick Walker from about 10 yards after a delightful cut back from James Taylor who was probably man of the match.

We were also missing about 9 players including some new recruits who really will show the intent of the club for next season. We will keep you updated on the incomings and outgoings which will become clearer over the coming weeks.
